Explanation

There are currently two versions of the Internet Protocol (IP) that are widely used:

IPv4 (Internet Protocol version 4): This is the most widely used version of the Internet Protocol. It uses 32-bit addresses, allowing for a maximum of approximately 4.3 billion unique addresses. IPv4 has been in use since the early days of the Internet and is still the primary protocol used today.

IPv6 (Internet Protocol version 6): This is the newest version of the Internet Protocol. It uses 128-bit addresses, allowing for a much larger address space and supporting a virtually unlimited number of unique addresses. IPv6 was developed to address the limitations of IPv4 and the growing shortage of available IP addresses. It is being slowly adopted around the world, but its deployment is still not complete
