Explanation

According to Indian standards, the standard size of bricks as set by Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is 190mm x 90mm x 90mm (length x width x height) . This size is known as the modular brick size and is widely used in construction across India. 

However, in some region of India, depending on the local tradition, practice and availability the size may vary.
